Our Core Values
Special Care for Your
Child
We focus on Natural Environment Teaching (NET) which allows each moment to become a beneficial teaching experience by sparking the child’s interest and adapting to their needs. To us, 40 hours is the extreme, not the norm. We only prescribe hours based on each child’s individual needs.
- Compassion
- Autonomy
- Consent
- Engagement

Autonomy Is Key
Client involvement is at the heart of effective treatment. At Shweet Behavior, fostering autonomy and self-advocacy is one of our core values. We are committed to providing ethical, compassionate care built on a strong, trusting relationship between client and provider. The absence of a “no” is not the same as consent—and we believe that every individual, regardless of communication style, deserves to have their boundaries respected.
ABA therapy is most effective when it is rooted in open, nonjudgmental communication. Our goal is not to change who an individual is, but to support meaningful behavior change that enhances their quality of life. If a child withdraws assent—whether through crying, running away, hitting, or other nonverbal signals—we listen. We respond. We adapt. We focus on teaching functional communication that supports self-advocacy and empowers the child to express their needs.
At Shweet Behavior, we believe learning should be joyful and that gaining new skills should feel safe, positive, and engaging. We do not force compliance. We respect each child’s voice and adjust our approach to meet them where they are.
